• Experience with large-scale, high-throughput, low-latency, real-time event processing systems.

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  
• Experience in developing and optimizing high-performance, low-latency, event-driven real-time backend systems.
• Familiarity with machine learning systems and development lifecycle, including model training, testing, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.

In this role, you will handle deep technical challenges in distributed computing, real-time system architecture, and event-driven signal processing, as we modernize and evolve our infrastructure to accelerate AI initiatives and real-time mapping systems across Geo. Your contributions will directly enhance the world's best driving and navigation products, and contribute to the future of innovation in mapping and mobility products for Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Work with engineering and product leads across teams to define and understand system requirements, and align infrastructure design and architecture to meet business needs.
• Innovate and evolve systems and APIs to keep pace with changing and emerging AI and machine learning capabilities and patterns.
• Measure and monitor system health and performance. Define service and data Service Level Objectives ( SLOs), and maintain a strong team culture of operational excellence.
