Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 4 years of experience designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-grade file and block storage architectures.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with storage performance characterization, throughput benchmarking, or latency optimization using industry-standard tools.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• 3 years of experience with NetApp ONTAP architecture, including configuring storage virtual machines and multi-tenant role-based access control.
• 2 years of experience designing high-throughput, low-latency storage architectures optimized for scaling AI/ML workloads or air-gapped systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive GDC core file and block storage features within the GDC air-gapped ecosystem. Define, measure, and optimize storage performance to meet stringent IOPS, throughput, and latency requirements aligned with Google Cloud best practices.
• Build and enhance observability, monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation capabilities to ensure high availability. Implement secure, isolated storage environments for multiple tenants leveraging storage virtual machines and role-based access control.
• Enhance the architecture to support running advanced AI/ML workloads. Collaborate across organizations to ensure the overall GDC architecture scales effectively.
• Mentor and grow engineers on the team, establish processes and governance for software development, and foster the use of AI tooling to enhance developer velocity.
