Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience programming in C .- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products and working with stakeholders.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- 10 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience with full stack development, including backend distributed systems and experience in directly managing people.
- Experience in testing, and launching distributed systems, storage and related software products.
- Experience in programming languages like Golang and C .
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Staff Software Engineering to drive design, development, and operational excellence of network and machine modeling infrastructure.
In this role, you will require back-end distributed systems expertise, excellent judgement, and strong stakeholder management skills. You will work closely with partner teams, external organizations, and engineers from various tool and infrastructure teams to understand needs, align road-maps, and ensure the modeling infrastructure meets the evolving demands of both networking and AI/ML landscape. Effectively working with geographically distributed teams is also a key aspect of this role.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of high-performing engineers who design and model the planet-scale networks powering Google's services and those of the Cloud customers.
- Define and drive the team's technical goal, strategy, and roadmap for Modeling Infrastructure, exercising strong technical judgment.
- Actively participate in and guide architectural and design decisions for scalable and reliable service deployments.
- Manage project priorities and resources effectively, ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions in a fluid, ambiguous environment.
- Cultivate strong relationships and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and a various set of user teams. Uphold high standards for system design, code quality, and operational excellence. Advocate best practices for managing and communicating within a remote/hybrid team structure.
