The climate emergency requires an unprecedented amount of change at incredible speed and scale. The Salesforce Sustainability Intelligence & Decarbonization team is looking for an experienced analyst to serve as our primary expert in both greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and water footprinting. This role will split time between supporting Salesforce's GHG accounting, emissions analytics, and reporting programs, and leading our water footprinting and forecasting work. This position will report to the Senior Director, Sustainability Intelligence & Decarbonization and work closely with the entire Impact team and cross-functional business partners.

Primary Responsibilities
GHG Accounting & Reporting
- Contribute to the annual greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, disclosure, and forecasting processes across Scopes 1, 2, and 3
- Collect and analyze company activity data and perform GHG emissions calculations
- Support the maintenance and improvement of GHG inventory systems, including data management protocols and software tools like Agentforce Net Zero
- Support delivery of clear and timely emissions data to business partners on a regular basis to inform decision-making
- Document and refine process narratives, calculation methodologies, and inventory management practices
- Support the maintenance of quantitative models used to enable Salesforce's sustainability commitments
- Perform research on evolving industry trends, sustainability standards and frameworks, and emissions calculation/modeling methodologies
- Support annual Stakeholder Impact Report data collection and analysis
Water Footprinting & Expert Leadership
- Serve as the team's primary subject matter expert on corporate water accounting and footprinting
- Collect and manage data on water consumption, withdrawal, discharge, and other critical metrics for offices, data centers, public cloud, and key suppliers
- Develop and implement processes for water footprinting and forecasting
- Support the development and communication of water-related scenarios and strategies to team members and stakeholders
- Help set and track water targets in alignment with industry standards and best practices
Reporting & Accountability
- Oversee CDP reporting process and data collection
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency in emissions, water, and nature-related reporting
- Collaborate with senior team members to ensure methodologies align with industry standards and best practices
- Deliver clear and timely data and insights to business partners using data visualization tools such as Tableau
Project Management
- Support the implementation of high-impact sustainability strategies throughout Salesforce's value chain and beyond
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on ESG frameworks and reporting standards
- Contribute to process improvements related to data collection, forecasting, and decarbonization
- Collaborate to improve actionable supplier emissions data and forecasting
About You

Required Experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in environment, sustainability, energy, GHG accounting, or a related field
- Technical expertise in GHG quantification and accounting utilizing the GHG Protocol across Scopes 1, 2, and 3
- Well-versed in emission factors and emissions calculation methodologies
- Experience with or strong interest in corporate water accounting and footprinting
- Demonstrated analytical fluency, including a mix of qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Proficiency in performing complex calculations and data analysis in spreadsheets
- Proven experience maintaining complex data models and data management systems
- Demonstrated experience managing several concurrent projects across a variety of interconnected teams
- Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Positive, team-oriented, hands-on, and flexible attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with corporate water accounting frameworks and targets (e.g., AWS, CDP Water)
- Experience with emissions forecasting
- Experience with third-party GHG verification and/or auditing
- Experience with product LCAs
- Experience with Tableau, Salesforce CRM Analytics, or other data visualization software
- Experience with Google Suite (e.g., Google Sheets)
- Experience navigating within large, complex organizational structures
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g., extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $94,000 - $142,300 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $112,900 - $155,200 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
