Job Description
This role is not a hands-on security engineering or SOC position.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a Product Security Governance Support Specialist to support secure software development (SSDF), regulatory readiness (EU Cyber Resilience Act), and internal security governance initiatives within the Networking Business Unit.
This position focuses on coordination, tracking, documentation, and follow-through rather than building security tools, monitoring alerts, or performing incident response. The role partners with security engineers and product teams to ensure governance requirements are executed consistently across the SDLC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support security engineers and SDLC governance teams in driving SSDF, EU CRA, and related cyber compliance initiatives
- Coordinate across engineering, product management, security, and governance stakeholders to track activities, deliverables, and dependencies
- Assist with application security asset tracking and posture management efforts
- Collect, organize, and maintain documentation required for product classification, compliance, and governance audits
- Track action items, milestones, risks, and dependencies using tools such as Excel, JIRA, and Confluence
- Support planning, reporting, and status updates for ongoing security governance initiatives
- Proactively communicate progress, issues, and next steps to stakeholders
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience supporting or coordinating efforts across IT, development, or technical teams
- Experience coordinating security, compliance, or SDLC initiatives across engineering teams (tracking deliverables, documentation, timelines, and dependencies) is strongly preferred.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Effective prioritization skills in a cross-functional environment
- Proficiency with Excel for data tracking and reporting
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence
- Interest in building or expanding security and technical skills (training provided)
Nice to Have
- Exposure to security frameworks such as SSDF, NIST, or EU CRA
- Experience supporting governance, compliance, or application security programs
- Project management or security-related certifications
- Security certifications are not required.
Experience coordinating SSDF, SDLC governance, or regulatory compliance efforts within engineering environments is valued over certifications.
