Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Telecommunications, or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Network Test Engineer-related occupation.
- Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Telecommunications, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Network Test Engineer-related occupation.
- Position requires 2 years of experience in the following:
- Testing and debugging of network equipment and network protocols;
- Developing test plans and creating test cases based on specific test methodologies;
- Configuration of network management and control plane protocols including LACP, STP, RSTP, and VRRP;
- Test automation scripting using Python or C ; and
- Writing technical documentation for test plans, procedures, and results.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $186,100 - $218,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position reports to the (Google Sunnyvale, CA) office & may allow for a hybrid schedule per Google policy.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for networking features, equipment, and systems by identifying all project requirements.
- Develop test automation scripts using Python or C to contribute to the hardening of device hardware and software on Google platforms.
- Identify, document, and track bug statuses throughout the product lifecycle, escalating complex issues and providing regular updates to project teams.
- Manage the end-to-end testing and release process for networking products, overseeing project timelines from initiation to completion.
- Lead cross-functional reviews with related teams to cover test plans, results, acceptance criteria, and exit criteria for validation testing. Lead a small test team to create comprehensive test and automation plans for high complexity projects and publish results for organizational use.
