About the job
At Google, we put our users first. The world is always changing, so we need Product Managers who are continuously adapting and excited to work on products that affect millions of people every day.
In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.
One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.
Google Labs is seeking a visionary product manager who can build something new. Something users love, and that Google needs. You will be responsible for identifying whitespace opportunities, rapidly prototyping nascent ideas, and navigating extreme ambiguity to discover product-market fit.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape something entirely new from the ground up at Google - and maybe even do that more than once. We are looking for a leader with exceptional product taste, deep ties to the broader tech startup ecosystem, and a knowledgeable pulse on rapidly evolving AI industry trends.
Labs is a group focused on incubating early-stage efforts in support of Google's mission to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our team exists to help discover and create new ways to advance our core products through exploration and the application of new technologies. We work to build new solutions that have the potential to transform how users interact with Google. Our goal is to drive innovation by developing new Google products and capabilities that deliver significant impact over longer timeframes.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $240,000-$334,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.
Responsibilities
- Translate emerging industry trends, academic breakthroughs, and competitive movements to the types of products and features we should be building.
- Focus on discovering product-market fit, establishing the frameworks for how we evaluate early success, learning from failure, and pivoting gracefully before a product is ready to graduate to global scale.
- Form a high-trust alliance with your TPM and Engineering counterparts. Bypass the manual "tax" of product delivery and keep your cross-functional team focused purely on product innovation.
- Inspire and guide a cross-functional team through the inherent chaos of early-stage development. Find ways to unblock the team and make everyone around you better.
