We are seeking a Senior SaaS Platform Architect to join our Insurance Product Engineering (IPE) team. This is a high-impact role responsible for shaping the architecture of our Assure SaaS platform, enabling scalable, secure, and integrated solutions across global environments.

You will operate at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud architecture, and product strategy, driving consistency, integration, and innovation across the platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, can influence across teams, and is passionate about building scalable SaaS solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Architecture & Strategy

• Define and lead the end-to-end architecture for the Assure platform across cloud and hybrid environments
• Establish and enforce architecture standards, patterns, and best practices
• Drive a configuration-over-customization approach to improve scalability and reduce complexity
• Ensure alignment between architecture decisions and business and product strategy

Integration & Smart Apps Enablement

• Oversee Smart Apps design, integration, and governance within the platform
• Enable seamless integration across cloud and customer environments (e.g., AWS and hybrid models)
• Promote modular, API-driven architecture to support scalability and reuse.

Governance & Delivery Excellence

• Lead architecture governance, including design reviews and standards compliance
• Partner with engineering, DevOps, and operations to ensure high-quality, scalable delivery
• Identify risks, resolve architectural challenges, and ensure long-term platform sustainability.

Collaboration & Roadmap Alignment

• Work closely with Product Management to align architecture with product roadmaps
• Collaborate with peer architects to define and maintain reference architectures and reusable patterns
• Support global teams by enabling a consistent and scalable SaaS delivery model

Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide technical leadership across teams, influencing without direct authority
• Mentor architects and engineers, promoting best practices in SaaS and cloud architecture
• Foster collaboration across distributed, cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software or platform architecture, with a strong focus on SaaS
• Proven experience designing and scaling enterprise SaaS platforms in cloud environments
• Deep expertise in microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and data architecture
• Experience working in global, matrixed organizations with cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure, or cloud architecture credentials
• Experience in insurance or financial services platforms
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, automation, and cloud-native technologies
• Track record of driving architecture governance and standardization at scale

Work Environment

• Preferred: Onsite in Charleston, SC (Daniel Island office)
• Open to: U.S.-based candidates in Eastern or Central time zones
