About the jobA problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish - working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program Manager, you will act as a multiplier for Google's Partnered Delivery and Offsite (PDO) construction portfolio in the Texas region. You will lead the 'Owner Oversight' program for a complex and large portfolio of data center developments under absolute net lease structures. In this role, you will manage ambiguous cross-functional issues and drive safety interventions to mitigate high-energy electrical, and mechanical risks in addition to traditional construction risk and compliance. You will serve as the primary EHS authority representative of Google for these developer-led projects, bridging the gap between site delivery and long-term operational safety while preserving Google's liability shield.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the "Owner Oversight" EHS program for the Dallas/Austin portfolio to mitigate Google's liability and ensure developer compliance with contractual safety standards.
- Oversee the remediation of high-energy electrical hazards, specifically focusing on arc flash prevention and grounding architecture deficiencies across geographically dispersed sites.
- Collaborate with executive cross-functional stakeholders (Front-End Planning, Data Center Operations, and Quality) to drive site-level resolutions and remove bottlenecks during construction and turn-up phases.
- Validate and audit developer-led Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and safety-related 8D quality audits for significant incidents to ensure systemic risks are addressed.
- Manage and mentor site-level Construction Safety Team Members, providing guidance on program deployment and performance oversight to ensure consistent safety governance.
