Job DescriptionWe are:
Category Management. We drive the growth and success of categories at Target, one of the largest US retailers. We work with the Target merchants day in and day out to provide actionable insights on their business, from assortment, to on shelf merchandising, to what is happening in the marketplace. We distill large amounts of data, both quantitative and qualitative, in recommendations that Target can act on.

The work:
As a Sr. Category Manager, you will:
- Help set and lead the strategic direction for a category at Target
- Deliver merchandising and assortment planning recommendations
- Research category and industry trends to provide findings on what is next within a category
- Analyze and leverage multiple sources of complex data sets, to tell a story on growth opportunities for the category and demonstrate thought leadership
- Develop and maintain routine reporting on category performance through Target and Market data and communicate actionable insights
- Build Planograms using the Blue Yonder Space Planning software multiple times a year
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Target team
- Collaborate and share findings with the Category Management Team
- Have a desire and availability to be a dependable go-to resource for team training and development
- Have an understanding of team strengths, opportunities and existing data resources to most effectively balance workloads and create a connected team culture
- Proactively create efficiencies, processes, and templates for the Category Management team by always looking for new ways to complete the role
- Adaptable and willing to jump into help were necessary
- Ambition to potentially manage other team members
- Other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
Qualification
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a retail account manager working in Category Management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple different categories preferred and able to apply the fundamentals of Category Management to any business
- Demonstrates leadership with the team and client
- A master at pairing multiple data sets to answer business questions and proactive at telling a story on business trends
- Self-starter with the ability to work in ambiguous situations and likes to continuously learn
- Passionate about retail and industry trends
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and reliable to hit deadlines
- Asks good questions, gains alignment on goals and can execute on them
- Can creatively solve problems and work independently
- Strong communication skills and excellent relationship building skills
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Proficient in Category Management Tools (Blue Yonder Space Planning, Market Data- POS and Panel Data, etc.)
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired as set forth below.
