Corporate Functions - Marketing & Communications
As part of this team, you'll play a key role in helping Accenture execute its strategy. You'll work with a diverse team of innovative marketing experts who focus on the following areas: global brand management and advertising; global events and sponsorships; people engagement; marketing research; media relations; corporate and financial communications; digital marketing; talent brand marketing; client-centric marketing; and industry, service line and geographic marketing campaigns.
Position Description: Senior Media Relations Manager, Technology + Ecosystem
Accenture is looking for a dynamic public relations professional to manage integrated global media relations efforts related to Accenture's Technology business by leveraging major marketing campaigns, thought leadership, successful client engagements, joint ecosystem partner initiatives, and the expertise of Accenture's senior management in relevant areas across the business.
The individual is responsible for: (a) improving the focus, quality and frequency of media coverage; (b) strengthening Accenture's approach to managing its interaction with the media; (c) ensuring that media relations initiatives are consistent with strategic business objectives; (d) developing and disseminating messages and executing media programs that leverage synergies across other Accenture business areas; and (e) improving Accenture's external profile within the areas supported by our Technology business.
This individual will work closely with marketing and business leaders and will collaborate with industry, functions, and market unit media relations colleagues.
While there will never be a typical day at Accenture, here's a look at some of your responsibilities:
- Lead communications strategy and oversee execution of external media campaigns to drive visibility for Accenture's global Technology business by developing themes and messaging that align with the marketing teams' plans as well as overall industry trends and major events.
- Manage an editorial calendar for thought leadership launches, regular byline contributions, client and third-party announcements, navigating potential internal news conflicts.
- Advise executive leadership on media relations strategy and messaging
- Align media activities with the company's global brand and with the relevant marketing teams' strategic business goals
- Write and edit news releases, working closely with relevant marketing leads, business leads and functions, industry and MU media colleagues, as appropriate.
- Influence content development and thought leadership produced by the marketing team and Accenture Research to reinforce Accenture's leadership position in Technology
- Coordinate with ecosystem partners on announcements and media opportunities
- Effectively negotiate and build consensus to resolve complex challenges across teams both within Accenture and with alliance partners and clients
- Create compelling messaging and differentiated positioning to set Accenture apart from competitors
- Monitor the competitive landscape for media mentions and share of voice, applying this knowledge to improve Accenture's overall position in the industry
- Conduct and analyze market/competitor/influencer research as input to positioning and external marketing and communications plans
- Manage and develop professional working relationships with key journalists and ecosystem peers
- Must be based in or near Accenture office. Minimal travel.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or other four-year university degree
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in media relations/corporate communications (corporate or agency experience preferred)
- Excellent written and oral communications skills. Superior writing capabilities are essential.
- Strong background in enterprise technology is preferred.
- Proven ability to reduce complex and technical topics into clear, concise and high-quality media materials including news releases, media Q&As and talking points.
- Detailed knowledge of media relations process in general and Accenture's media relations policies, including public disclosure requirements and restrictions.
- Broad understanding and skills in strategic marketing and communications, especially in area of specialization or crossing more than one functional/technical area.
- Experience building and maintaining high-value relationships with Tier One business and industry media
- Ability to create compelling messaging and differentiated positioning to set Accenture apart from competitors
- Strong, budget management and financial reporting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Passion for creating and executing programs that are of the highest quality, fully supporting Accenture's business strategy and that are in line with or exceed leadership expectations.
- Superb diplomacy skills to navigate complex ecosystem relationships. Strong negotiation and conflict-management skills to resolve complex issues.
- Ability to influence the highest levels of leadership within Accenture's large, matrixed organization through relationship-building and strong executive-level presence.
- Broad overall business acumen and knowledge of Accenture's areas of business.
- Strong teaming skills-ability to work autonomously and independently yet integrate appropriately with Marketing & Communications colleagues in other business areas geographies, and across Corporate Communications.
- Familiarity with AI tools and social media preferred.
