Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.
- 10 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on business development, partnerships, or a related field.
- Experience originating, building, and maintaining external partner relationships and structuring partnerships agreements to execute on infrastructure development and operations.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or other advanced degree.
- Experience developing and executing on strategies in a large, global organization and managing complex, cross-functional projects.
- Experience in corporate development, M&A, or investment banking with a focus on large-scale infrastructure or technology assets.
- Deep knowledge of the energy ecosystem, supply chain, and energy finance.
- Ability to build executive-level relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.
As a Strategic Negotiator supporting Data Center Energy Partnerships, you will be responsible for developing and executing on partnerships within Google's energy portfolio and integrating them with the company's data center needs. You will be responsible for originating, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships with utilities, energy companies, and other key players in the energy ecosystem. You will have responsibility for the creation of innovative partnership structures and investment vehicles to accelerate the deployment of energy generation, transmission, and other energy products to support the growth of Google's data center fleet.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$254,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Originate, structure, and negotiate complex, multi-faceted energy partnerships or the energy aspects of energy and data center partnerships, including development agreements, framework agreements, joint ventures, and other investment vehicles spanning both mature and emerging energy technologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including data center site acquisition and development, energy commercial structuring, advanced energy, energy market development, engineering, finance, and legal to ensure alignment and successful execution of partnerships and deployment of assets.
- Analyze industry trends, identify new opportunities, and develop simple, creative solutions to meet Google's energy goals and data center needs.
Represent Google in external forums and with key industry stakeholders.
