As a Staff UX Designer for YouTube Ads Formats, you will architect the future of our mobile, desktop and tablet experiences by transforming the way viewers discover and engage with advertiser content across the platform. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a command of craft across the design spectrum to architect our next-generation ad experiences.Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We're made up of multiple teams, building Google's Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $178,000-$265,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
- Architect the foundational identity for ad experiences across YouTube's core surfaces from the fluid consumption of Shorts to the leaned-back discovery of the YouTube Main App ensuring each surface plays to its unique superpowers but connects fluidly through a shared design language.
- Architect our horizontal ad strategy by identifying high-impact opportunities and developing a cohesive goal that harmonizes brand stories across YouTube surfaces.
- Push the boundaries of technology and creativity by challenging established thinking and architecting modern approaches that allow brands to tell their stories with authenticity and impact.
- Bring complex architectural goals to life through high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes, using inspirational storytelling to align stakeholders and drive outcomes.
- Elevate the visual quality of new and existing features with a critical eye for aesthetics and UI craft.
