Node Platform owns the services that deploy, protect, configure, and schedule the foundational layers of software, including firmware, operating systems, and the components underlying Compute Infrastructure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP0, for Google's planet-scale fleet of production machines.

We are currently looking for a talented and enthusiastic software engineer to join our team and work with us on expanding our service offerings to ever-further reaches of the node ecosystem. This improves the overall usability of the Node Platform and enables new Cloud applications.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, implement and test APIs and large-scale distributed backend systems to deploy, protect, configure, and schedule Node Software across Google's production fleet.
• Work closely with SRE to proactively ensure quality and performance.
• Gather requirements from component maintainers, service owners, release coordinators, and other stakeholders, and create innovative tools and solutions to make their jobs easier and move key metrics.
• Key player in the deployment of the latest custom-built Google hardware, and in all phases of the machine fleet lifecycle, from turning up to repairs to decommission.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
