Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (C , Java, Python, or Go), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networking, or experience with compute technologies or hardware architecture.
  
• Experience with Distributed Computing, Distributed Processing and Systems Infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• Experience with design and development of large scale distributed systems that will lead to consistent reliability, scalability, security, and performance of the critical Infrastructure.
• Proficiency in programming with C or Go.
• Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.

The Bouncer team within Cloud Networking is repsonsible for designing and implementing planet-scale distributed rate-limiting services. The goal of these services is to support internal as well as external Google use-cases.

In the past few years the services have seen massive growth, both internally and from Cloud. They are being used in almost all user interactions with Google and Cloud.

We are rearchitecting different parts of these services to build the next generation system scalable and portable rate limiting solutions for Google Cloud Platform and Google Distributed Cloud.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
