Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of visual design experience in product design or UX/UI design.
Experience creating mockups, user interfaces, and prototypes using Figma and other industry-standard design tools.- Experience designing, building, or launching consumer-facing products.
- Experience building a scalable visual design system that ensures consistency and quality.

Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.

As a Visual Designer, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution. You will collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.
The YouTube Design System team is where product design strategy is heading next, defining new patterns and interactions for entertainment platforms. The team creates a scalable design system for the YouTube product ecosystem by providing the principles, components, color strategy, and typography for teams to deliver quality. In this role, work consists of system ownership, future creative UX and visual design explorations, and expressing how the brand manifests within products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
- Explore new visual language patterns and develop a holistic design story to serve as a constant source of inspiration for the YouTube UX organization.
- Partner and consult with feature teams to craft innovative ideas that deliver on the core philosophies and capabilities of the YouTube visual design language.
- Build partnerships with UX peers to push the boundaries of how design can be implemented across multiple products.
- Contribute to the delivery and maintenance of the design language, ensuring all technical specifications and guidance are documented.
- Leverage soft skills to form team relationships and deliver high-quality outcomes.
