Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C .
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
- Experience with Distributed Databases.
- Experience with system design and performance.
Preferred qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with database internals, C, C , Linux Internals.
- Experience with Redis, Memcached, or other caching or database systems.
- Experience in designing and developing performance intensive systems w/multithreading and synchronization.
- Experience driving complex technical projects, including planning and execution, and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.

Our team mission is to provide high performing and highly available cache-as-a-service for Google Cloud Platform customers. Cloud Memorystore team realizes this mission; we own 3 fully managed cache services built on scalable, secure and highly available infrastructure managed by Google.
In this role, you will be working on a service that combines direct customer impact with high technical challenges and you will be developing scalable services in the cloud. You will solve technical problems spanning multiple areas in distributed systems. The engineering team and business are scaling up really quickly, so ride the wave by being one of the early contributors to a whole new product tier that will increase our business by an order of magnitude.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
- Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
- Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Develop and own the long term technical roadmap, drive the architecture and design, and lead the team in implementing and delivering functionality to large customers with demanding workloads.
- Partner closely with Product Managers to define product direction and priorities, and collaborate with a number of other Google Cloud Platform (GCP) teams to drive alignment and integrations.
