Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C .
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
- Experience with system design and distributed systems.
- Experience in Database.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Experience in SQL Server or other relational databases.
- Experience with Go, Java and Python.

The team provides a managed SQL Server offering, one the fast growing database offerings within Cloud SQL. The team manages all aspects of database service implementations, which includes high availability, backups, database point of time recovery, performance improvements, integration with Google Cloud Ecosystems, and growing the customer base with our premium enterprise offering.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $262,000-$365,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the design, timely implementation, code correctness, and support of SQL Server, a fast-growing database engine within the Cloud SQL product family.
Work with product management to define features and create and drive roadmaps for one or more functional areas in the team.- Drive foundational initiatives to grow and improve the reliability of the service.
Participate in and manage technical debt reduction analysis and the implementation efforts.
Participate in the on-call rotations, help maintain and mentor junior engineers, and foster collaboration in a healthy team culture.
