As a Software Engineer at Salesforce, you will be part of a dynamic global team delivering and supporting technology infrastructure to meet the growth needs of the business. You will be involved in projects that optimize current services and build next-generation software for the global production environment. You will collaborate with Engineering and Development teams to ensure designed services are fully operational with streamlined processes and procedures for ongoing support and maintenance.
The software engineer role at Salesforce encompasses architecture, design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality. What You Will Be Doing
- Identify areas where software can be developed to provide operational efficiency and detailed visibility into metrics and ongoing activities for customers
- Identify opportunities where software and AI-based automation can reduce errors, increase availability, and improve velocity of operations
- Enhance automation capabilities and develop orchestration to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Design, develop, and test software in collaboration with other engineers on the team
- Demonstrate excellence in organization and time management
What You Should Have
- Excellent analytical and coding skills
- Expertise in Python, Go, and AWS or GCP
- Experience with Postgres, Terraform, and Kubernetes preferred
- Knowledge of Database Operations
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of REST APIs
- Experience building highly scalable web applications
- Experience with Agile software development and test-driven development

- Driver. You lead engineers by example, continuously improving both the quality and productivity of your deliverables
- Doer. Demonstrates a consistent track record of driving the creation of features that are impactful to customers
- Influencer. Participates in reviews of other teams' designs and provides constructive, clear feedback
- Communicator. Communicates clearly and efficiently with internal partners (Architects, other teams, Support Engineers, etc.) and stakeholders to share information, resolve dependencies, and integrate feedback
Required Skills
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field
- 6+ years of Engineering experience
- Experience in AWS and GCP
- Excellent programming skills in Python, Java, Terraform, and/or Go
- Self-starter who is highly motivated, able to shift directions quickly when priorities change, and able to deliver against tight deadlines
- Willingness to learn and master unfamiliar technologies and/or concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactive and forward-thinking with creative problem-solving ability
- Excellent team player able to work with virtual and global cross-functional teams

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $148,500 - $223,900 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $178,900 - $246,000 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
