- Experience with Data Analysis/SQL and Experiment Analysis.

Preferred qualifications:
- Master's or other advanced degree, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with ads infrastructure components such as retrieval, ranking, monetization, or auction systems.
- Experience in user behavior for mobile-first, vertical video environments.
- Experience demonstrating an understanding of business initiatives, user behavior, and development of new opportunities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, detail oriented about learning the inner workings of highly sophisticated systems.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.
As the lead Product Manager on the YouTube Shorts Ads team, you will own the strategy and execution for maximizing the monetization efficiency of YouTube's fastest-growing surface. You will be at the center of building a multi-billion dollar, high growth business that is deeply rooted in a sophisticated understanding of users, creators, and advertisers.
Your work will begin with a deep understanding of organic user behavior on YouTube Shorts. You will analyze how users naturally discover and consume content to identify new, untapped opportunities for commercial experiences. You will form clear, testable hypotheses, not just about new ad formats, but about entirely new types of ad experiences and drive a cycle of experimentation to find the next breakthrough solutions for Shorts.Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We're made up of multiple teams, building Google's Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$278,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Unite Engineering, UX, Data Science, Finance, and Sales to establish a compelling product goal and define a clear roadmap that balances user experience, creator revenue, and advertiser needs for the Shorts surface.
- Own the end-to-end product development life-cycle for new ad solutions and monetization strategies across YouTube Shorts, from initial ideation to global launch.
- Drive a culture of data-driven experimentation by constructing hypotheses for new ad formats and system improvements, run A/B tests, and deeply analyze results to deliver significant value.
- Collaborate with YouTube Organic and core ads infrastructure teams, including retrieval, ranking, auction, and quality to evolve our models and systems to better serve the unique opportunities on the Shorts.
- Co-ordinate with go-to-market, measurement, and overall YouTube consumer product teams to ensure the successful launch, adoption, and performance of your ad solutions.
