The Role and Impact:
Intel is seeking motivated individuals to join our design engineering team as a Physical Design Engineering Graduate Intern. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the physical implementation of cutting-edge silicon designs, paving the way for advancements in technology. In this role, you will develop and enhance workflows that reduce human effort and identify optimal implementation strategies to deliver products aligned with our goals. You will be responsible for building data analysis and summarization capabilities, as well as designing flexible, graph based systems that support dynamic decision making. The focus is on improving execution efficiency and determining the right "recipe" to achieve optimized results.
Requirements:
Problem solving skill set
Demonstrate innovative and creative thinking capabilities
Basic understanding of VLSI and CAD flow
Knowledge of AI-power agentic application development
Experience with Github Perforce tools is plus
Understanding of GenAI models, Reinformcement learning, decision tree and application based on them
Programing skills, Restful API / Python / AI platform / Containers
Qualifications:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your degree, research and or relevant previous job and or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Master's, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 1+ years in the following:
- Proficiency in AI based solution development.
- Familiarity with industry standard CAD tools.
- Understanding of digital design concepts and methodologies, including RTL design and verification.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills to drive alignment across diverse teams.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $89,200.00-120,700.00 USD
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Our standard internship rates are based on your degree, location, and the job role.
