The Salesforce Sales Cloud engineering team is seeking an outstanding engineer to drive our performance and scalability initiatives with a keen interest in innovating with AI capabilities. This work is critical to ensure Salesforce can sustain the tremendous growth we have seen in our transactions and data volumes along with Agentforce AI capabilities. Are you an application and/or database expert, passionate about exploring AI capabilities for optimizing our applications and database technology to support this staggering growth and innovation? Join the teams that have delivered game changing technology to support the performance and scalability of Sales Cloud products and applications. You will need deep experience with application/database internals, proficiency in solving real-world data management challenges in high scale systems, and proven ability to design, develop, and optimize the critical data processing systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of development experience, with at least 5+ years of experience in optimizing large scale applications and databases .
- Strong knowledge o f structured and unstructured database fundamentals, design, architecture, performance and scalability
- A mastery of a programming languages (e.g. Java, C++) and strong Object-Oriented programming skills with focus on optimizations, design patterns and best practices for performance and scalability.
- Strong knowledge and experience with optimizing queries on Oracle or similar relational databases
- Familiar with AI/LLM Models and GPU's
- Familiar with generative-AI technologies and agentic frameworks
- Development experience with PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle, or other database technologies
- Strong understanding of schema design and SQL development
- Strong experience with IAAS (AWS or GCP). Major points for familiarity with multi-tenant architecture.
- A proven track record of optimization and design improvements for performance and scalability.
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript ,CSS, JS frameworks and Browser Internals
- Experience performance profiling and optimizing JavaScript & CSS and also detecting and fixing JavaScript memory leaks.
- Expertise with Selenium webdriver for UI automation
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Extra credit if you have in-depth and clear understanding of performance engineering concepts, methodologies, tools, metrics and analysis.
- A related technical degree required.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience and knowledge of structured and unstructured databases.
- Java feature development experience
- Experience developing frameworks and tools for performance measurement and analysis. You will need this ability to validate your optimizations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the linux operating system, especially process and system monitoring facilities
- Experience building SaaS applications
- Experience leading and driving production escalations: monitoring, remediation, patch delivery, root-cause-analysis
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and experimental design techniques
- Experience with agile and test-driven-development techniques

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $148,500 - $223,900 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $178,900 - $246,000 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
