Description
Job DescriptionThe Statistical Programmer Manager provides significant technical expertise for the statistical computing development of clinical study reports and preparation of submissions. Participates in all phases of programming support for the Clinical Trials, from trial set up activities to trial closeout activities, across multiple platforms including data migration oversight. Acts as a process subject matter expert (SME) in areas of client delivery scope. Oversees global team preparedness, engagement and growth in alignment with client objectives. Assist the Service Delivery Lead in running the day-to-day operations by providing timely information and reports as requested.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Team Liaison
- Serve as the primary point of contact between delivery teams, client study teams, and leadership.
- Interface between offshore and onshore teams/clients.
- Support colleagues in non-clinical/organizational initiatives and contribute to meetings and discussions.
Clinical Data & Programming
- Generate listings, summary tables, patient profiles, and trial-specific outputs to support clinical scientists and statisticians.
- Develop and validate Study Data Tabulation Model (SDTM) and SDTM-like datasets, tables, listings, and figures using Statistical Analysis System (SAS) programs and standard macros.
- Perform developer testing and quality control checks for all deliverables (standard and non-standard safety and efficacy).
- Maintain documentation on project progress, validation, programming updates, and other required records per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs.)
- Review approved protocols, study setup documents, submission documents, and specifications.
Technical Expertise
- Demonstrate end-to-end understanding of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) platforms (Oracle InForm, Veeva CDMS, Medidata Rave).
- Implement SDTM mappings and assess downstream dependencies for seamless integration of medical monitoring solutions.
- Possess hands-on experience with tools like JIRA and other Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools; proficient in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Understand clinical concepts such as) Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST,) Immune Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (iRECIST,) survival analysis, vendor response monitoring, and discordance tables.
- Knowledge of database migrations and Clinical Data Repository systems.
- Understand blinding/unblinding processes of clinical data.
Operational Support & Leadership
- Collaborate with senior programmers and leads to ensure smooth study execution.
- Mentor new hires, provide guidance, and assess service readiness.
- Perform resource management for ongoing and future studies.
- Assist the Statistical Programming Manager/Service Delivery Lead with daily operations and reporting.
- Learn and adapt to other processes within the contract as needed.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Adhere to client and Accenture SOPs.
- Complete assigned online training within required timelines.
- Enhance technical skills relevant to statistics and programming.
- Provide inputs for Business Excellence documents, collect metrics, and update dashboards.
- Leverage standards to maximize efficiency and consistency across projects.
- Participate in task forces and initiatives as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- The role requires onsite work at the client site in a hybrid model located in Southeastern, PA.
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years in Statistical Programming in Life Sciences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Proficiency in SAS programming (SAS/Base, Macros, SQL, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH).
- Expertise in Clinical Data Acquisition Standards Harmonization (CDASH) and Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) standards.
- Experience with data analytics tools: JReview, elluminate, Spotfire, PowerApps, etc.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of elementary statistics.
- Strong leadership-level communication skills (verbal and written).
- Effective meeting facilitation and active participation.
- Customer-oriented and relationship-driven approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; proven team player.
- Skilled in planning, organizing, and results-oriented execution.
- Ability to coach and develop others.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired as set forth below.
