Marketing Cloud engineering builds innovative features across content, channels, data, and orchestration.
You will work with a group of outstanding engineers to build the breakthrough features our customers will love, embrace, and use while keeping our trusted platform stable and scalable.
The software engineer role at Salesforce encompasses architecture, system design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality. Your Impact:
- Design & Develop high-quality code to improve platform reliability, availability, and scalability
- Design, implement, and tune robust APIs and API framework-related features that perform and scale in a multi-tenant environment.
- Lead, collaborate, communicate, and mentor others on the team and in the company.
- Handle large data sets in the cloud.
- Build novel capabilities and new services leveraging and extending complex platforms.
- Design and implement intelligent and thorough testing strategies to ensure quality delivery
- * Participate in the team's on-call rotation to address complex problems in real time and keep services operational and highly available.
Required skills:
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- Deep knowledge of Java.
- Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST, GraphQL, etc) and a strong understanding of distributed systems and concepts such as reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Deep knowledge of data concepts related to relational databases, including the ability to build, execute, and debug complex queries.
- Experience developing client-side code via JavaScript/TypeScript/Ajax/etc
- Experience developing in an enterprise environment such as source code control, IDE, continuous deployment, and release management (Git, perforce, Eclipse, Intellij, VSCode, Jenkins)
- Experience with Agile software development and Test Driven Development methodologies
- Experience with complex platforms
- Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent cross-group communication and problem-solving skills
- Provide technical and architectural leadership in a global and diverse organization.
- Experience developing with the Salesforce Platform.
- Experience building Software as a Service (SaaS) applications for enterprise customers.

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $172,500 - $260,100 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $207,800 - $285,800 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
