Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience working in an imaging systems simulation technical environment.
- Experience in Software development using Python and Matlab.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
- Experience developing tools or performing simulation to map imaging hardware design to camera performance metrics.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following: optical design, image sensor design and characterization, photo and video processing pipelines, ISP algorithms, computational photography, and computer vision .
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
- Lead development of imaging system simulation tools for Google's consumer hardware products.
- Define simulation workflows, capabilities, and performance goals, and validate against real hardware.
- Research mobile and wearable imaging technologies.
- Investigate imaging performance goals for multi-camera systems.
- Collaborate with our partners in System Product Development/Electrical Engineering, Camera Hardware, Android Software team.
