Role Overview
The APTD: S and WA Equipment Group Leader (EGL) is a front-line people manager responsible for leading a team of Equipment Technicians (MTEs) on a compressed work-week night shift (6pm-6am). The EGL reports to the Equipment Team Manager and is accountable for safe, high-quality execution of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and excursion response on advanced packaging substrate manufacturing tools including wet chem, material handling, backend and plating equipment.
This is a hands-on role requiring:
- Strong technical depth (engineering or equipment maintenance background preferred)
- A continuous improvement mindset
- Daily, visible engagement on the fab floor alongside the MTE team
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time technical guidance to MTEs on troubleshooting equipment, recovery, and excursion response.
- Plan and allocate resources for corrective (CM) and preventative maintenance (PM) to maximize tool availability and stability.
- Support install/qual (IQ) and build new tools.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts (safety, quality, cost, output) using MBPS and structured problem solving to drive sustainable solutions.
- Maintain strong presence on the fab floor, ensuring effective on-shift execution, documentation, escalation, and handoffs.
- Build and develop a high-performing technician team and promote consistent standards across all shifts to support 24x7 coverage.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
Minimum Qualifications
- HS Diploma with 10 years of experience.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business or related field with 3 yrs of experience.
- Experience in Substrate, Assembly, Packaging, or Silicon process development or manufacturing.
- Experience in equipment maintenance and install/qual (IQ).
- Manufacturing operation systems, factory physics, and compressed work-week structures.
- Experience leading continuous improvement projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, HPM) with measurable results.
- Management experience in a manufacturing or fab environment.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $89,010.00-170,630.00 USD
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
