Description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience in software engineering, with experience designing and building large-scale, mission-critical systems.
• Experience in a technical leadership role, mentoring and guiding senior engineers.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 20 years of experience in relevant industries, with a focus on security, cloud computing, or a related field.
• Experience with AI and machine learning, and a passion for applying these technologies to solve complex security challenges.
• Deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: threat intelligence, security operations, incident response, or security engineering.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A strong point of view on technology leadership, research, and industry trends.

As a Distinguished Engineer and Uber Tech Lead (UTL) for GUSTO, you will be a premier technical authority and a key partner to the leadership of Google Cloud Security. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $365,000-$505,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long-term technical roadmap for the GUSTO, aligning with the overall goals of the security division.
• Lead the design and architecture of highly scalable and reliable security solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX, and other engineering teams, to define product requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
• Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in the areas of AI and security, and advise the organization on their potential impact.
