Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
14 years of experience in legislative affairs, government relations, or public advocacy, including developing positions and campaigns.
14 years of experience in involving capital-intensive infrastructure projects (e.g., data centers, energy, utilities, real estate).- 10 years of experience working on political communications, or technology policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, private sector, or relevant industry associations.
- Experience in people management.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leading scalable cross-functional programs.
- Experience working with public policy teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and collaboratinng skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.

As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.
The Public Affairs team is responsible for building Google's reputation and presence among key decision-makers and in the markets where we operate. We create strategic, scalable solutions that deliver authentic impact.
As the Sub-Regional Public Affairs Lead, you will be on the front lines of this effort, acting as a strategic advisor who shapes our data center initiatives to align with local and state priorities. You will be a leader, identifying and maximizing partnership opportunities with local institutions to effectively tell the story of Google's commitment and long-term investment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$302,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Act as sub-regional lead of a team of individuals. Set and communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
- Execute our investment in regional market opportunities while building our public policy and community engagement activities in an organized way.
- Develop and work on regional or market segment strategy for long-term infrastructure development programs. Influence third-party strategy at the executive level.
- Provide public policy thought leadership and build relationships within Google and externally by networking.
