Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional Engineer's license.
- 5 years of experience in Civil/Structural or Site Engineering.
- Experience with building design, coordination, and construction.
- Experience implementing civil/structural engineering principles (e.g., grading and drainage, hydraulic modeling, sediment control, erosion control, or soil migration).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Chartered engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of site layout, grading, drainage, road and infrastructure layouts.
- Knowledge of industry construction means and methods.
- Ability to communicate technical issues effectively in written and verbal forms with special consideration given to online collaboration and presentations.
- Ability to work in a team/collaborative environment.

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).
As a Data Center Civil Engineer with demonstrated design and construction experience with mission critical facilities in North and South America, you will be involved in the development and optimization of data center campuses with focus on the application of standard design guidelines, development of design guidelines and optimization of designs to meet Google's requirements. You will create several types of documents including: investigative assessments, critical risk assessments, critical de-risking recommendations, leadership team summaries and presentations, scopes of work (SOW's), concept designs, design specifications, detailed design deliverables, drawing markups, milestone reviews, budgets, schedules and submittal reviews

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$211,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Responsibilities
- Enforce owner/program standards while reviewing architecture and engineering designs.
- Review and provide guidance on proposed site development designs and reports such as test fits, geotech reports and civil designs.
- Generate owner requirements, specifications and guidelines.
- Serve as Google's in-house consultant, advisor, and authorized civil engineering technical representative through all phases of the projects.
- Work with the internal Google stakeholder groups, related consultants, design consultants, construction management firms, and construction contractors to execute the design or construction contract(s) on behalf of Google.
