Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in one or more discipline areas: machine learning, recommendation systems, natural language processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, or artificial intelligence.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• Experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.
  
• Experience using Natural Language Processing models (NLP).
• Experience solving product or business problems using investigative, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or statistical methods, including coding (e.g., Python, R, or SQL).

As a Business Data Scientist on the gDATA team, you will help solve the complex and evolving needs of gTech Strategy and Operations, transforming it into a data-driven powerhouse. In this fast-moving, collaborative environment, your technical skills will have a direct impact on empowering our customers, support agents, and engineering partners for success in the AI/ML age.

The Global Business Organization (GBO) is the engine that powers Google's full ecosystem of products and services to help customers and partners succeed and grow. GBO includes the commercial arms of Ads sellers, business development teams, and customer services and support, as well as overlay programs that enable coordinated engagement with Google's most complex and important customers and partners.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$166,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of data-driven solutions with a focus on large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to solve key business problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in gSO, GTM, gTech, and customer engineering to identify challenges and opportunities, translating business needs into actionable data science solutions.
  
• Contribute to problem solutioning and solution translating, leading projects from ideation to implementation and ensuring complex findings are communicated clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
• Help pioneer the future of gTech by staying ahead of the curve, applying emerging trends in data science to take on the impossible problems that stand between gTech and success.
• Help optimize support operations, automate case routing, and make Google Ads products more usable for our customers.
