Minimum qualifications:

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or related training program certification in a relevant technical field (eg. CMCO, SMT, etc.).
• Experience in Mechanical/Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), or electrical.
  
• Ability to work non-standard hours.
  
• Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs of equipment, the required use of OSHA standard safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience at Apprenticeship or Technician level in a critical environment.
  
• Ability to comfortably perform repetitive technical and manual work.
• Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on-call.

As part of the data center team, you will operate, monitor, and support facility activities at Google's data centers. You ensure that problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services and preventive maintenance, and that safety measures are being performed. You bring the ideas of our Data Center Engineers to life and develop creative approaches to improve efficiencies and reduce operational costs.

In this role, you will train alongside experienced technicians and may regularly help inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components. In this role, you will learn Google systems and tools in order to create a technical foundation. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $61,500-$86,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair a variety of fire life safety systems, including fire alarm systems (panels, sensors, strobes, horns), fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action), fire suppression systems (clean agent, CO2), fire extinguishers, emergency lighting systems, exit signs.
• Perform preventative maintenance according to schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
  
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions and implement effective repairs.
  
• Operate, monitor, and maintain fire life safety systems to ensure optimal performance and readiness.
• Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions in fire life safety systems. Follow established procedures for emergency response and evacuation.
