Description

Principal Program Manager, Azure for Silicon

The Azure Special Capabilities, Infrastructure and Innovation Team is responsible for driving end-to-end innovation across product, business models, customer, and partner engagement, to make Azure the most compelling cloud solution for large scale, critical workloads in advanced modeling and simulation across commercial as well as US Government sectors.

Who are we looking for?

Securing the supply chain for design, development, fabrication, and distribution of trusted silicon is a national imperative for our critical infrastructure and national security. Our team is building the core capabilities to enable this.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of technology, industry dynamics and the eco-system for the Silicon/EDA value chain.

You will have experience working with the semiconductor industry, with a focus on government and national security agencies, the defense industrial base and public sector R & D.

You bring a passion for developing transformative use models that leverages potential of hyperscale Cloud + AI for HPC, modeling and simulation, data management and data analytics/transformation.

You have a mix of strong engineering, business and partnership skills, to be able to define, structure and execute innovative end-to-end initiatives; working across Microsoft's Azure infrastructure products & services and AI/ML teams, ecosystem partners including tool vendors (e.g. EDA), middleware and service providers, to deliver value customers.

Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive strategy and execution for bringing secure cloud-based trusted design and manufacturing capabilities to government and commercial customers.
  • Define and drive execution, including lighthouse customer(s), ecosystem partner and industry engagement alongside internal teams across Sales, Engineering, Business Development, and Finance.
  • Identify the right technical and business solutions to deliver a transformative experience from Azure infrastructure, services, and resources to industry roadmap partnerships.


Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in commercial and government engagements in the semiconductor, microelectronics, or EDA industry.
  • 10+ years of experience managing large, complex, multi-disciplinary programs that span engineering, sales, and business development.
  • A demonstrable track record of leading collaborative transformational projects in either a product, program, or business management role.
  • Experience defining industry, business and/or product strategy plan, which are data-driven and technology centric.
  • Experience or knowledge of infrastructure, software stack and services required to support large-scale Industry workloads.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies on Azure, AWS, GCP or other cloud platform providers.


Desirable Qualifications:
  • Knowledge/familiarity of technologies and techniques to secure IP, design and manufacturing technologies and fab/foundry processes for silicon.
  • Experience in the contracting processes, security requirements and onboarding process for large programs with Government institutions and the Defense Industry.
  • Previous experience in public cloud-scale services, leading cross functional programs from concept to production.
